Back On!

For the regular readers of my blog, I just want to let you know that we're back on! A few things contributed to the lack of posting....I went through the fall semester without Internet at my house, my computer screen turned green, and I began experimenting with RAW format (takes a lot more time!). I'm going to add some photos from this fall, but I'll back-date them, so they remain in the proper time-order on the blog.

I'm taking my winter vacation back in the USA. So, for the next month, this blog won't be the "Daily Shot of Jeju." Instead, it'll be the "Daily Shot of Powder Mountain!" In December, I went back home to Indiana for Christmas, then drove out to Utah for two months of working on the Ski Patrol at Powder Mountain. My Dad's friend Butch rented a super nice condo at the bottom of the mountain road and I'll be staying there with Butch, Chuck, and a couple weeks later, Chad.

Utah hasn't been blessed with much snow this season...we've only got about half as much as normal. It hasn't snowed in a week, and there's no snow in the forecast for 7 more days. However, the temperature has been relatively cold lately, so Butch and I decided to take this opportunity to go ice climbing! We drove over to Ogden to check out Waterfall Canyon. The ice was mostly in, but it looked a little sketchy at the top. Neither of us has ice climbed recently, and we're both scared to death of leading on ice, so we didn't climb much, but it was a successful and fun day!

  3. Hey Greg,

This is actually Dan (Mike's Son)'s blog. I'm staying with Butch this winter. I think blogging is still just a little technologically past Butch at the moment, but I'll tell him you say hi and hope to see you on the mountain or in the heli one of these days! You're certainly not missing much in terms of snow at the moment.
